Sam wanted to build an installation where the thongs came to life, creating a wave motion as they moved. Teaming up with buddies Studio Ham, the thong wave installation consisted of a scaffolding rig, fluorescent lighting, a rotisserie motor and 436 Cherry Red Havaianas sewn together using over two kilometres of fishing line. The installation drew crowds outside Pitt Street Mall General Pants in Sydney for a whole month, increasing sales by 300% for the period.
